As optional work, I got someone to put three items in a bag, I couldn't looks at thrm and I had to try guess what those items were, the first time I got all the items correct, the items were... A shell, a bike lights and a clove of garlic.
The second time I got two items correct, the items were ..... a mini beater ( I got this one wrong) , a bath plug and a comb.
The third time I got all the items correct ( but I pulled out the first item before I said it), the items were.... A zip tie, a piece of toilet paper ( not used) and a watch charger.
This was a really fun thing to do and it put my mind to the test.... See how many items you can get correct
The second thing I did for optional work was I did some tenpin bowling... this included ten drink bottles and a muscle ball. I ended up only knocking down 7 drink bottles, but that wasa first try and some of the drink bottles were metal ( one was metal and had water in it) so they were harder to knock over....
Kia ora Isla. I like the optional activities you've been given. I think the trying to guess the items in a bag is really exciting and fun, igt does put your brain to the test!
ReplyDeleteHi Isla, wow! it looks like your coming up with really fun activities to do while your tucked away in your wee bubble. The guessing game is really good for your brain gym with lots of fun. Have you tried the one where you put things on a tray or something look at the items, cover what can you remember ? You can start taking items away try it with your family. I wonder how good their memories are? I have to say what fun bowling is great idea using drink bottles.
ReplyDeleteI'll be interested to see what games you come up with next.

No I haven' t tried that Alison, I think I did it in Tane Mahuta once.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comments,
Isla
Hi Isla
ReplyDeleteThese activities look really fun. I liked your idea of the three items in a bag activity. While it is fun it also helps to train your working memory. The bowling also looks cool, I can't believe that you could find ten drink bottles!! I would be interested in finding out the rules of both of these activities. Maybe you could write up some instructions of how to play so that other people could give these a go? Great job Isla
I hadn't thought about how the bottles are harder to bowl over if they are full. You could use this to trick someone if you could set up two sets (one with empty bottles and one with full bottles). Lol just a silly thought. I will definitely try the three-items-in-a-bag game in our bubble. Thanks for the great ideas.
